A Day at the Matinee
We offer a selection of movies, comedy sitcoms and concerts; you pass the time in the chair watching your favorites while we do our work.
Dental technology is progressing at a very fast pace. It seems as though just a short time ago people dreaded going to the dentist, apprehensive about the discomfort that always came with that visit. Dentistry is no longer like that, thanks to the new high-tech equipment.
Today, your time in the dental chair can be reduced significantly and your apprehensions will be reduced as well. Here are some examples of the exciting technology we offer.
We have converted to digital radiography. This change allows us to see the dental x-ray immediately at our chair side computer monitor. In addition, digital radiology provides a better image enabling Dr. Steve and Dr. Maggie to provide a better diagnosis and dental care. Most importantly, radiation exposure to the patient is decreased by 75%.
Intra-oral Camera in every Treatment Room
An intra-oral camera is about the size of a pen and fits easily into a patient's mouth. This device sends a picture to a monitor that can magnify the image up to 400 times larger. Patients will be able to see the same image that the dentist sees, at the same time, making it possible for the dentist to show them the treatment that may be needed.
Air Abrasion - No-Drill Dentistry
Air abrasion is a method of decay removal that replaces the traditional "dentist drill." A hand-held device blows a powerful air stream of tiny, fine, aluminum oxide particles out of its tip across the decayed area of the tooth. Because air abrasion cuts tooth surfaces with the utmost precision, it removes less tooth structure than a drill and treatment time is usually shorter. Often this can be accomplished without anesthetic.
With digital photography, you'll be able to see what you're going to look like after your procedure is complete. Digital photography is used hand in hand with cosmetic imaging. Want to know what you'll look like with whiter teeth? We can show you. What would you look like with straighter teeth?
Digital photography is also used as a diagnostic tool. By documenting the look and condition with digital visual records, we are able to provide detailed information to our dental laboratory and to our doctors to properly restore your smile. Blending the colors of restored teeth with natural teeth is very complex and requires accurate images.
Computers in all Treatment Rooms to facilitate scheduling
We have computers in every exam room so you can schedule your next appointment in complete convenience. With a few easy clicks and a quick quiet conversation with someone on our professional staff, your next appointment is scheduled, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of your day.
Cosmetic imaging also improves our cosmetic dentistry services. The imaging software can show before and after photos of any proposed cosmetic services. It will show you what your smile can look like after teeth are straightened or whitened. It can also digitally fill spaces where your teeth are missing or repair chips in your teeth. All of this is done without an instrument touching your mouth. Preview your new smile before treatment begins.
